Newspaper Articles' Reflections.
The Straits Times pg A2.
Title: Teen sex: It's up to the parents to draw the lines.

This article emphasizes on how teenage sex is on the rise and teens are having sex at a younger age. In my opinion, as a teen, I feel that most teenagers are becoming very brainless in the process of being "modern". It is sad that very few teens really think through before doing anything stupid like having sex. It used to be that boys were the ones desperate for sex and forced girls into it, which is also called as rape. But now, things have changed. Instead of the guys being desperate, its the girls who are desperate. It is very saddening to see girls turn into "despos" because all they think, is to have sex with their boyfriends because they feel that their boyfriends qualify to be their husbands, therefore, they have to experience the marital life. I would like to really make this clear to all teenage girls that this is really nonsense. We should start being more alert and not be ignorant until the underage sex happens. Therefore, we have to prevent having underage sex by being aware of underage sex and be well-equipped with information about it.

Title: Crack down hard on litterbugs.

This article talks about how Singapore should be harder in those litterbugs who litter the island and make it look so dirty. I agree with this article because personally, I have been noticing that the rate of littering is going up. I can also see that the Singapore Government is trying to raise awareness to the public to stop littering. As the Youth Olympic Games is going to happen soon in Singapore, many foreigners would be coming into our country and will definitely observe our country. As Singaporeans, we have to take the ownership over our country and clear up for any mess we make. It is also mentioned in the article some suggestions to stop litterbugs from littering any longer. I think that we should really make the punishments even more harsher for those who litter so that they would stop littering and learn a lesson. As a country, we should do this together: keep our country clean and green.
